Back Description Polenta is a great alternative to pasta, rice or potatoes and is a great accompaniment to meat or fishes dishes. Our organic cornmeal is produced by coarsely grinding corn kernels from the sunny Mediterranean. Our cornmeal is GMO free, organic and delicious. Cornmeal is often known as polenta, however technically it is not polenta until the cornmeal has been cooked. It originated in Northern Italy where it was an essential low cost food source. Polenta is a creamy, hearty, sweet dish which is a great alternative to pasta, rice or potatoes and is a great accompaniment to meat or fishes dishes. Cornmeal can also be used instead of breadcrumbs to make a lovely golden, crunchy textured coating.
